It has been ten years since I first started recording: initially my own ballads and in these last years songs far more recognized [almost all that I performed in cabarets and concerts]. To be in a studio working with great musicians Ė most members of the Dallas Symphony, was a great joy. Of the more than one hundred recordings, it was a difficult decision to select the best forty, analogous to choosing your favorite child among many. In the next few months Iíll be recording another twenty or so and with these additions Iíll be able to produce another "The Best Of Dwight Townsend, Volume Two." At which point I will have completed my recording career.
I must give most of the credit for whatever pleasure this music offers you, the audience, to my great arranger, Don Zimmers and to my co-producer and engineer, Phil York. Both as professionals in their fields and as friends I could ask for none better!!
