This Collection of songs is a mix from my most recent recording sessions of last spring and the best of those I had not included in my first 2-cd set "Hello Again; The Best of Dwight Townsend" sent as a kind of faux holiday greeting card in 2007. At seventy-five years old, I'm rather proud that my voice has retained a high professional quality; on the other hand, I do think I hear "the fat lady singing" ever more loudly on stage left, brandishing a rather long crook with which to terminate any performance not up to my usual standards. So I must accept the fact that this is probably my last vocal recording - but there are instrumentals to be arranged and recorded by the same members of the Dallas Symphony and the best sidemen of the southwest who have been with me almost ten years. My brilliant arranger, Don Zimmers, and an
"A+" ultra engineer, Phil York, to both of whom I owe so much, will remain at my side making mountains out of molehills. I dedicate this 2-cd edition not only to my wife, Carmen, and daughter Lesley, but to all of my friends of many years. You know who you are and how very much you have enriched my life, so listing names is unnecessary. I send you all the best wishes and hope you will enjoy "Encores."
